QTalk Arizona, the State’s only LGBT Podcast Network, has partnered with ‘N Touch News Magazine and FilmBar Phoenix to screen “You Should Meet My Son” in late September in a benefit for AIDS Walk Phoenix.  ”You Should Meet My Son” is a comedy about a conservative Southern mom who discovers that her only son is gay.  Determined that he won’t go through life alone and miserable, she sets out to find him the perfect husband.  The film has won awards at various film festivals around the world and has not yet screened in Phoenix.  FilmBar Phoenix owner Kelly Aubey is thrilled to to support the LGBT community through this film and will be donating all ticket proceeds from both screenings to Aunt Rita’s Foundation in support of AIDS Walk Phoenix.  Keith Hartman, writer and director of the film, is also excited for the additional exposure of the film in Phoenix and waived the screening fees to the film.  More information about the film and a trailer can be found at www.youshouldmeetmyson.comListen to a description of the movie on ‘What The Hell Is Going On In Phoenix?

The film will be shown on Friday, September 23rd at 10pm and Sunday, September 25th at 4pm.  Tickets will go on sale through the FilmBar website (www.thefilmbarphx.com) in early September.  FilmBar is a 21+ beer/wine bar with over 30 different craft beers, 15 different wines and a separate, sound-proofed room dedicated to screening new, classic, cult and local independent films in a microcinema setting (70 seats). FilmBar is absolutely a unique place in Phoenix and seeks to build equally awesome bar and film crowds.

Aunt Rita’s Foundation raises and equally distributes money to Central Arizona programs that prevent HIV/AIDS or assist those living with HIV/AIDS. Aunt Rita’s Foundation will accomplish this through direct public education and signature fund-raising events.  Register to walk or create/join a team today at www.aidswalkphoenix.org
