Compete RadioOn the show this week…

It’s another ‘beta’ episode!  Talking about Peyton Manning and the Colts, and then the conversation goes down the tubes as Connie mentions a news story about an elderly man who nearly lost his testicles to an alligator, a bit about the NBA All-Star Game in Orlando, Florida and Jeremy Lin’s great fan base.  All this and a whole lot more on this week’s show!

We’re almost ready to announce who our new permanent cast is for the show and our ‘beta’ stand-ins will head back to their trailers in a few weeks.

Compete Radio #3-2: Athlete of the Year David Rae and Eric’s Super Bowl Predictions!

Play

Compete RadioThis week, we’ve got Compete Magazine’s 2011 Athlete of the Year David Rae as our featured guest, plus we’re talking about upcoming events, straight ally Hudson Taylor and predictions for the Super Bowl!

David Rae is incredibly involved in the gay community of Los Angeles and West Hollywood, although we’d have to say it extends far beyond just those cities!  He’s been involved in the AIDS/Life Cycle ride since 2008 as team captain of ‘Team Popular’.  On top of working to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for ALC, he’s involved in raising money for the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center.  His love of cycling meshes seamlessly with the ALC fundraising effort, and, his family’s background in sports (his dad, Mike Rae, was a NFL quarterback) definitely influenced his hyper-active lifestyle.

David RaeConnie is out this week so Eric and Joe talk it up this week about the latest from the Compete Network…   are sports players paid too much?  And what about baseball players?  Also, the latest with Hudson Taylor and his Athlete Ally organization which is working to eliminate homophobia in collegiate sports.

In local news, the Gay Rodeo is coming up!  The RoadRunner Regional Rodeo, put on by the A.G.R.A. is coming to Rawhide February 17-19!  Get your horse and favorite cowboy ready, well maybe not in that order!  And finally, Eric seeks out advice from the universe so he can bring you his famous Super Bowl Predictions!  It’s another great show on our third season of Compete Radio, right here at our new home on QTalk Arizona!
