The Supermoon affected our connection systems and thus wiped out any hopes for a broadcast today.  After later tearing the studio apart, our engineers got the system working again — but a bit too late!

We hope to bring you the interview with Poppy Champlin on Sunday’s “What The Hell in AZ?” with guest host Travis Edwards.  And other than that, Poppy and the Queer Queens of Qomedy will be at Stand Up Live at Cityscape this Wednesday night at 8pm.  Get tickets before they sell-out!

We want to thank everyone who came out to meet us at our booth at Phoenix Pride and who saw us in the Parade as we were doing our live broadcast.  It was a great ‘coming out party’ for QTalk at the festival and we were able to meet lots of new fans!  But, did you think it was a little too hot?  Would you have stayed at the festival longer or enjoyed it more if it had been in the 80s instead of the 100s?  What if Phoenix Pride was held in March?  Is that even possible?  What if the festival was held at Chase Field?  Or at the convention center?  Are we being good stewards of our desert environment by creating air-conditioned outdoor zones in a temporary festival setup, just because the festival has to be held in April?  We ask these and more questions, and invite you to chime in as well.  Send us an email and let us know what you think.  In the next few weeks, we’ll have Brandi Sokolosky from Phoenix Pride to chime-in on this very topic (she wasn’t available due to a Pride wrap-up meeting today).

We want to thank everyone who came out to meet us at our booth at Phoenix Pride and who saw us in the Parade as we were doing our live broadcast.  It was a great 'coming out party' for QTalk at the festival and we were able to meet lots of new fans!  But, did you think it was a little too hot?  Would you have stayed at the festival longer or enjoyed it more if it had been in the 80s instead of the 100s?  What if Phoenix Pride was held in March?  Is that even possible?  What if the festival was held at Chase Field?  Or at the convention center?  Are we being good stewards of our desert environment by creating air-conditioned outdoor zones in a temporary festival setup, just because the festival has to be held in April?  We ask these and more questions, and invite you to chime in as well.  Send us an email and let us know what you think.  In the next few weeks, we'll have Brandi Sokolosky from Phoenix Pride to chime-in on this very topic (she wasn't available due to a Pride wrap-up meeting today). Week two was a little more subdued than premiere week! It appears the effects of Pride weekend were lingering for some while others were getting through without any problems. Topics ranged from a reminder of Streisand’s birthday to the sharing of a story about meeting the Village Indian. There was a discussion of sports where one of the four may have nodded off. Buddy’s once again brought snacks and several things were accented by a DRAMATIC sounder. There was a great appreciation for a cooler studio as they ALL reaped benefits from the new ceiling fan. No, they still don’t have it all together and they may never figure it all out…but who cares! It’s just fun to listen and see what happens during their brief two-hour festival of fun!

Well, we’ve got all that and more for you.  Linda’s been involved in our community ever since she moved here in the 1980s.  From AGRA to Pride to, well, she’s still involved with Pride these days…she played great roles in local community organizations.  She tells the story of how the local community ‘woke up’ after we almost lost Pride in 2001 and it started the transition to Phoenix Pride being the organization that it is today.  And ultimately, producing much higher caliber events and being a ‘force to be reckoned with’ in the community.

Of course, there's usually more to it than that.  Kit Kloeckl is the Executive Director of Aunt Rita's Foundation and talks about what the foundation actually does, how he decided to get involved several years ago and a bit of his own personal story.  New this year with SAVORlife is a contest (it involves getting someone new on-board to do a dinner) where you can win an iPad!  And, speaking of dinner, Kit encourages everyone to be creative.  Don't limit yourself to just dinner, or specifically a meal.  Think outside the box and have fun with it! Aunt Rita's Foundation raises funds throughout the year for 20 local HIV/AIDS service organizations and also produces AIDS Walk Phoenix in the Fall.
